Back when I was designing the FSM interface, I’ve tried a lot of different things, including some of your suggestions here, but by nature FSM connections tent to become spaghetti if they are complex enough after a while.
Manually choosing or locking the direction of the connections one-by-one was tedious and the reason it never happened as well/
Your other suggestion though, about dragging the info box of the connection to adjust it’s curve, is a really nice one.
I will take a look at this suggestion and see if it comes up with any good results design wise. I think it most probably will though 🙂
