      Hi,

Focal Distance, Focal Length, Focal Aparture are not working.  I tried many values but nothing happened. ( see image 1 )

The Use Post Processing Stack V2 Define is toogled ON. ( see image 2 )

( please continue and read the reply because the image upload limitation is reached. )

I have a Global Post Process Volume setup. ( see image 3 )

I tried to toogle the layer between default and post prcossing, not thing changes.

When the layer is set to default: Field of Depth is working in game, but is not working in Slate cut-scene.

When the layer is set to Post Process: Field of Depth is not working in game nor in Slate cut-scene.

A Post Process Layer is setup on the Render Camera. ( see image 4 )

Another Post Process Layer is also setup to a in-game camera ( the main camera ) with exact same configurations.

Post Processing package is downloaded. ( see image 5 )

When Slate Cut-Scene is finished and the game starts, you can see Depth of Field is properly working. ( see image 6 )

But we need it to work in the Slate cut scene.

          Please help, thank you.

            Hello there,

Your setup looks correct. You also need to select the Director Camera Root gameobject, and in the Director Camera inspector, set the Post Processing Volume Layer to the same layer as your global Post Processing Volume:

Let me know if this works for you. I would also advise to please try updating to the latest version of Slate?

Does your project use URP or HDRP, or does it use the standard render pipeline by the way?

            Thank you

              Hi,

              Unfortunately it’s still not working.

I updated Slate to the latest version “Version: 2.1.5 • Apr 3, 2022″

The Post Processing Volume Layer in Director Camera inspector is now set to Post Process layer.

The setup in ★ Director Camera Root / Render Camera  looks like this.

I see there is a Quick Volume auto generate by Slate while cut-scene playing.

I tried to toogle the Focal values in the cut-scene editor, but not thing changes. (The value on Quick Volume did follow the value I edited from cut-scene editor, but no visual change happened.)

There is another global Volume in the game, which is the one I used for gameplay. I noticed the component is called “Volume” instead of “Post-process Volume”.

              “Volume” came from namespace UnityEngine.Rendering

“Post-process Volume” came from namespace UnityEngine.Rendering.PostProcessing

2 global volumes are in the hierarchy while cut-scene playing.

The result is same, Depth of Field is only working after the cut-scene is finished playing.

                I am using URP 7.4.1

An anime post process Volume is used for characters but it doesn’t affect Depth of Field option in game, so I guess it won’t be the problem.

However I can only add this anime post process Volume to “Volume” by “Add Override”, I can’t add it to “Post Process Volume” by “Add effect”.

And the Post Process Volume in Quick Volume is auto generate by Slate so I have no chance to add the anime post process Volume to it.

Hello again and sorry for the late reply!

Please enable the “Use URP Define” in the Slate preferences (gear button in cutscene editor) since you are using URP.

Please let me know if that works for you. 🙂

                  Thanks!

                    Hi,

Enable the “Use URP Define” helped. And I eventually modified some of the code to make it work. Slate works fine and I think it was my program’s bug.

                    Thank you.
