      Adjust the [Camera Shot] “Focal”

The function of “Positon, Rotation, Field of View” works well.

However, “Focal Distance, Focal Length, Focal Aperture” does not work.

        Hello,

Focal Distance, Focal Length and Focal Aperture only work with the Post Processing Stack (image effects provided by Unity), since they affect depth of field properties.

You have to please download Post Processing Stack asset from the Asset Store and then in the Slate preferences, check the “Enable Post Processing Stack Define”. You will of course also need to property set up a Post Processing Stack image effect with Depth Of Field enabled on the “Render Camera” as well since that is the camera all custscenes are rendered from.

Please let me know if that works for you.

        Thanks.

          1)

Then why is there such a menu?

          2)

I did what you said …
The parameter “Depth of Field” is not activated.

          3)

As the next best thing …
I added the “Final Camera Effects Pro” asset.
I was able to animate the “Focal Plane Distance” parameter.

            Hello again,

When you enable and use the Post Processing Stack define, you don’t need to manually add the properties for animation within an Animate Properties Track for depth of field. The properties for depth of field to use in this case, are those found on the Camera Shot inspector (Focal Distance/Length/Aperture). These properties refer to the depth of field properties directly.

You can of course always use any other image effect asset if you want like you did 🙂

I wanted to define different “depth of field” properties for each of the three cutscenes.
So I wanted to animate the “Focal Distance / Length / Aperture” property.

              I ask again.
              Are menus like images working?
              It doesn’t work at all.
Do you have any related tutorial videos?

                Hello again,

Yes, these parameters work for animating depth of field “Focal Distance, Length and Aperture” of the Post Processing Stack v2 image effects.

                Please make sure that:

                • You have enabled the “Use Post Processing Stack Define” in the preferences (gear menu on the top right corner).
                • You are using Post Processing Stack v2 and you have correctly set it up on the Render Camera.

                Thank you.

                  I set both conditions above.
However, keyframes are well generated in the properties, but there is no change in the actual game scene.
I am proceeding with an alternative method once.

                  Other features are really great.
The combination with “lip sync pro”, multiple animation controls applied to one “actor”, combination with “play maker”, animation blending, real-time editing, and the ability to create without conflict with Unity are powerful.

It is the best asset beyond 5 stars.
Thank you for the idea and completeness of creating this asset.

                    Hello again,

Thank you very much for the positive feedback! Much appreciated and I am glad you like Slate! Please consider leaving a review if you feel like it 🙂 And of course if you encounter any issue, please let me know. Regarding Post Processing image effects, if this is still an issue for you, please consider sending me a reproduction project if you want (support_AT_paradoxnotion.com).

                    Thanks again.
